Reporter: Commitment to the GOP agenda doesn't make you a Trump loyalist

Republicans were particularly cheered when Democratic Sens. On the economy and job creation, congressional Republicans held a brutal 35-point lead, but also bested Democrats on things like "will fight for people like you", "understands what it is like for regular Americans", and "will reduce the power of special interests in Congress".

After the initial surprise of the governor's switch, we had but two questions: Why?

The GOP "has been engaged in a pattern of Racketeering which involves massive fraud perpetrated on Republican voters and contributors as well as some Independents and Democrats", the suit said.

In short: The political environment is looking very, very good for Democrats. As recently as Thursday, the state party had sent out news releases and tweets critical of Justice. Instead of providing a firm timetable or deadline for tax reform, Ryan said his goal is to get a tax reform bill through the House by the end of the year. "Now is the time to get everyone involved and put everything on the table". In April, the poll found that 44.5 percent of respondents in these states were favorable towards Trump while 42.5 percent were unfavorable.

In addition to the White House, the political network associated with the billionaire brothers Charles Koch and David Koch has is trying to prod the vulnerable Democrats to join the Republicans. Tillis said, "Well, the cost-sharing reductions over time need to be eliminated". After Trump suggested in a New York Times interview and Twitter that he was displeased with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Republicans on Capitol Hill came to Sessions's defense. He is weighing whether to withhold Obamacare payments known as cost sharing reductions, which he has the right to deny after a court ruled past year that the payments are not outlined in law and are therefore illegal unless appropriated by Congress.

That embarrassment of political riches means that in 2018 there are a whopping 25 Democratic seats up as compared to a meager eight for Republicans.

The White House has "learned how hard it is to thread the needle with 52 senators", Short said. Understanding Trump's enormous ego, Kelly is said to encourage gently rather than instruct. Various studies over the years have estimated that repeal could reduce bequests anywhere from 6% to 37%.

Five of those 10 - North Dakota, Missouri, Montana, West Virginia and IN - are states Trump carried by double digits.

While the data indicates that Trump remains strong in crucial battleground districts, other polling signals that his support is slipping in overall swing states.

The Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel called the switch "another blow to a Democratic Party". His lobbying effort consisted largely of warning GOP dissidents that he'd punish them if they didn't fall in line.

But all that came to nothing last month when the Republican-controlled Senate failed to approve a new health care bill. Troubled by the president's apparent soft spot for (or perhaps fear of) Vladimir Putin, overwhelming bipartisan majorities in both chambers passed a bill to impose more sanctions on Russian Federation and - most unusually - to prevent the president from lifting any such penalties. His group says the involvement of the Koch network "is a sign the administration is prioritizing passing policies to benefit wealthy donors". Just ask Republican Rep. Evan Jenkins, who served in both the state Senate and House of Delegates as a Democrat before switching parties to run for Congress.
