Bills' run wildly against the Jets

Although he surpassed the 12,000-yards-from-scrimmage milestone during Sunday's game, McCoy has many miles to go before he reaps. The one thing that Gang Green could not do was let LeSean McCoy and Tyrod Taylor beat them and that's exactly what happened.

"We thought we could stop them and get the ball back", Bowles said.

The Steelers sealed the game on their ensuing possession with a 71-yard touchdown drive. He had six catches for 81 yards in the loss to Pittsburgh and five catches for 71 yards in the loss at Oakland. Then new offensive coordinator Rick Dennison hit the Jets with counter-punches. It was Sean McDermott's and Brandon Beane's first game in charge of the Buffalo Bill, and they earned their first win.

However, New York was only able to gain a combined 38 yards on the ground, nowhere near the success that McCoy had. The passing game won't necessarily be strong in this season opener, but the running game is still solid in the hands of Bilal Powell and Matt Forte. In the defense, NY yielded an averaged of 15 points and 271.5 total yards. McLendon led a run defense that smothered McCoy last season. Ferguson played twelve seasons for the Bills, while Taylor began his third season with Buffalo on Sunday afternoon.

The Jets are what we thought they were. "I don't think it's a mistake". Matthews got injured in his first practice with the Bills, but looks ready to play in Week 1. It all comes back to repetition. We knew that the offense was going to have difficulty. His 48- and 52-yard second-quarter field goals kept the Jets in the game, with the 52-yarder the longest ever by a Jet at Buffalo. Shaq Lawson and Marcell Dareus came off the field on some third downs in favor of Lorenzo Alexander and Ryan Davis.

Neither team is expected to be a serious contender this season, but a win could jumpstart a surprise season. Josh McCown's second interception of the fourth quarter on the first play of that drive ended any hopes of a miracle.

It wouldn't matter though as a desperate McCown was picked off twice down the stretch in an attempt to get the Jets back into it, allowing Buffalo to ice the game with relative ease.

"You have to respect Tyrod's ability to run the ball", tight end Charles Clay said. We had a lot of different guys added in there. "Everybody gets paid to talk and do whatever they have to do".
