Finally, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry make their first public appearance

Tuesday, 26 Sep, 2017

They both attended the opening ceremony of the games, but sat apart.

And that's because they take their cue from the Queen, who rarely holds hand with her husband in public.

For her first official outing with boyfriend of over a year Prince Harry, actress Meghan Markle chose to go for a monochromatic outfit - and we're obsessed. Many media outlets and reporters were hoping to at least get a shot of Harry and Meghan together but that didn't happen. "Meghan would very much have taken his lead under the circumstances".

The Suits star looked gorgeous in jeans and a white button, and she didn't seem the least bit intimated by the spotlight.

The Invictus Games - which Harry launched in 2014 and serves as a Paralymic-style worldwide event for wounded servicemen and women -was also the ideal place for the pair to go public, as Meier notes.

While the couple's displays of affection were public, they both still made a decision to hide their eyes behind sunglasses.

As Daily Mail royal correspondent Rebecca English observed, the 36-year-old actress was actually being watched by one of Prince Harry's Scotland Yard bodyguards.

But while they've been dating for nearly a year, Meghan and Harry didn't actually sit together.

According to People, the stepdaughter of one of the contestants was sitting behind the couple.

Anderson is responsible for Markle and beau Prince Harry meeting and dating.

The Prime Minister and his photographer were leaving a hotel when fans outside mistook Scotti's physique and hair for the royal redhead's.

Prince Harry and Melania Trump - dressed in a houndstooth suit - spoke for a few minutes in the afternoon, posing for photographs before the prince headed to give out the first medals of the Games at the driving challenge competition.

"I believe an engagement is eminent", she tells PEOPLE.

"I am sure it will come as no surprise to anyone in this room that I am hugely passionate about the Invictus Games", Prince Harry told the conference.

"Nothing about me changed", she continued. "I'm still the same person that I am, and I've never defined myself by my relationship".

She had attended the Invictus opening ceremony on Saturday - but was sat several feet away from her royal beau.
