Gurley finished with 121 yards rushing and 94 receiving as the Rams (3-1) overcame two first-half touchdowns from Elliott the day before a federal appeals court hearing related to the star running back's blocked six-game suspension over a domestic incident in Ohio. We were able to capitalize.
"We were electric. The crowd was electric". Now, after yet another second half slump, the question becomes when will things change?
Seattle quickly regained the lead on a quick 75-yard drive, capped by a 30-yard run by McKissic, who was active only because C.J. Prosise was sidelined with an ankle injury.
But he was mainly focused on his two turnovers - an interception by cornerback Justin Coleman that was returned 28 yards for a second-quarter touchdown and a fumble recovered by inside linebacker Bobby Wagner and run back 21 yards for a score.
"It's hard to get him there".
It took awhile for the Hawks to get going. Folk redeemed himself after missing two field goals and an extra point earlier in the day, booting the victor after Winston answered Eli Manning's second TD pass of the day with an impressive drive that began at his 25.
With one explosive play after another in the second half, the Seahawks quickly blew up all the angst they had built up in their fan base in the first half. "You have to make plays".
In the second quarter of the Seahawks' match-up with the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night, Coleman broke on a lazy pass, picked it off, and took it to the house. Carroll says all his signs are stable. "I had a blast seeing our guys turn it around". There would be another pick in the second, though both balls could - and in the second case should - have been catches. "We just have to move on from it, learn from it".
Some veterans and their families don't believe National Football League players are disrespecting the flag.
But then came a 23-yard scramble on the first possession of the third quarter that saw Wilson steam straight for the goal line, where he was met by Darius Butler. Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson has torched the last four AFC defense he has faced: 328 passing yards per game, 12 touchdowns and no interceptions.
"We don't know if he needs surgery, that kind of stuff", Carroll said. "So we've just got to be sure to correct those things". It's from the other guys. "But guys want to see that passion from him", Baldwin said.
Running back Chris Carson, who many predicted to be a fantasy threat this season, left the game during the fourth quarter after suffering a gruesome injury when his leg was folded up under two Colts players. That's even considering Eddie Lacy will get some increased reps with the injury.
"Man, at first I lost it, " McKissic said.
It's a convincing, inspiring win, but we'll have to wait for word on Carson's condition to see if it's a costly one. He just hadn't had his shot yet. An 18-18 tie turned into a 32-18 Seahawks lead in an instant.
"That was fun, " Wilson said.
BIG PLAYS: Seattle's vaunted defense has shown itself vulnerable to big plays early this season. They have a good energy right now. "They just have to bring their efforts to the group". But going to Seattle will be a tough ask. "We're looking forward to it".
