Bucs not making any 'rash decisions' about Nick Folk after brutal game

He was also sacked three times by the Tampa Bay defense, and was on the ground enough during the first half that it started to become worrisome with each time he had to rise to his feet.

The prep for the early days of Fall by blowing their marquee close-up. It keeps them afloat in the division and playoff race and while that thought seems far down the road, it'll come faster than you think.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is not playing Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of a left thigh injury, the team announced. Despite making both extra points, Folk could not convert on any of his three field goal attempts, missing from 56, 49 and 31 yards.

Folk's struggles haven't been limited to Week 5, either.

"We'll talk about that sometime forthcoming", was all Bucs coach Dirt Koetter offered in the post-mortem. Luckily, Folk missed the long attempt.

Something happened to the New England Patriots tonight and it led them to a victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but not one that was over the top.

The kicker said he had not yet watched film of Thursday night's misses, but that he will at some point.

"I left points out there".

What is going on with the New England Patriots this season?

Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston's pass from the 19-yard line fell incomplete as time expired, a fitting ending on a night where the NFL's last-ranked defense held Tampa to seven points and under 200 yards entering the fourth quarter. "These last two weeks haven't been exactly what we were looking for".

After New England kicked a field goal with 1:10 to play, Winston connected on completions of 24, 20 and 17 yards to get the Bucs down the field and in range for one throw to the end zone.

Running back Doug Martin provided a lift in his return from a suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancers with 74 yards rushing and one TD.

Captain Obvious summation: This is not good.

"You bounce back. It's not his fault, " Winston said.

Defense was never going to be Tampa Bay's calling card this season; an offense led by Jameis Winston and Mike Evans was always primed to be what made the Buccaneers successful.

This is tough for the home team. The Patriots head into the match as the overwhelming favourites but we feel the two teams should be a lot closer in the market.

The Bucs linebacker corps will again be minus Kwon Alexander and most likely Lavonte David. The lows included the agonizing but decision to cut ties with placekicker Aguayo. "One play, 1-for-1!"

But let's not forget how the Bucs wound up with Folk in the first place. Realistic ones with a high-octane offense and a defense loaded with playmakers.

"It" is the dynasty, the Super Bowls and decimation of everything in its path.

It was a brutal night for Tampa Bay's Nick Folk.

"Utmost respect for him", Winston added. It's not coach vs. coach.
