State colleges, universities have proposal to accept students from hurricane-ravaged islands

This new internal task force will work to support the restoration of communications services in areas affected by this season's hurricanes, with an emphasis of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Among the governor's orders is a waiver of the rules requiring students have certain documentation and medical records.

Trump said the island was "already suffering from broken infrastructure and massive debt" and had an "old electrical grid, which was in awful shape". During his visit Trump said that the situation in Puerto Rico wasn't a "real catastrophe" like Hurricane Katrina was. Therefore, it is critical that these students and teachers have the opportunity to participate in our state's outstanding public education system.

Kaine, who is fluent in Spanish, said he plans on talking to numerous citizens who are directly affected by Hurricane Maria. This U.S. Territory is still reeling from the storm that struck almost two weeks ago.

Island of Light's organizers also say their are working on benefits for Puerto Rico to be held in Chicago and Denver, The festival's lineup included Cut Copy, Thievery Corporation, Tycho, Atmosphere, Lettuce, Gramatik, and more.

The students would pay in-state tuition rates.

The 71-year-old commander in chief was in Gauynabo, Puerto Rico, visiting hurricane survivors at a church when the moment was captured on camera.

She blamed the slow-moving aid on the federal government because of its constant request for paperwork, saying "we are dying, and you are killing us with inefficiency and bureaucracy".

"Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help", he tweeted on Saturday.
