Alabama Crimson Tide at Texas A&M Aggies

Now, the top-ranked Crimson Tide visits Kyle Field as almost four-touchdown favorites, trying to maintain that hot streak without letting those utterly one-sided games lead to overconfidence or complacency.

Former Texas A&M and Alabama head coach Gene Stallings was honored at halftime of the Aggies' game against Alabama at Kyle Field on Saturday night. After their three rushing attempts were unsuccessful, the Aggies went for it on fourth-and-goal.

However, unlike Alabama, their offense depends on yards after the catch. "We're not going to be everybody 66-3".

Key Play: Minkah Fitzpatrick's interception at Alabama's 1-yard line.

"There are no moral victories in this league", Sumlin said. That Jalen Hurts has yet to fumble or throw an interception is something to point to as a huge reason Alabama is so good.

With 10:18 remaining, Cullen Gillaspia burst through the middle of the Alabama punt team and blocked the kick of JK Scott out of the end zone for a safety. A&M's subsequent drive: sack for a four-yard loss, incompletion, incompletion, run for a two-yard loss, sack for a 14-yard loss, a delay-of-game penalty and then a 5-yard run on third-and-31. The Aggies cashed in the excellent field position with a 36-yard touchdown drive. Mond then ran the ball up the gut for a one-yard touchdown, pulling the Aggies within striking distance at 27-19.

"They are going to rush five and six guys a lot", Saban said Wednesday.

"There's no moral victory". From a broad perspective, any win that keeps a team undefeated is a good win. The Aggies did get one final touchdown to make it a one-score margin, but it was irrelevant to the outcome.

Kansas State (3-2, 1-1 Big 12) briefly secured a first-and-goal at the top of the second overtime, but two holding calls and an incomplete passed forced a 53-yard field goal try for McCrane, who missed it off the left upright.

On the other side of the ball, the Tide ran for 232 yards on 44 carries and found the end zone twice, highlighted by a career-long 75-yard sprint to paydirt for tailback Damien Harris.

Stallings, who also coached the Crimson Tide from 1990-1996, is still recovering after a heart attack last Friday that required the 82-year-old be put on a ventilator and have a stent put in. Defensively, Texas A&M is allowing 28 points and 387.4 yards per game.

A&M quarterback Kellen Mond scored a one-yard touchdown with 17 seconds to play.

Alabama was led by quarterback Jalen Hurts who had 123 yards passing and 56 yards rushing.

The 1967 Aggies defeated the Crimson Tide in the Cotton Bowl, a bonus to their first SWC title since 1956 under then-coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.

Alabama kicker Andy Pappanastos made the extra point and fans across Aggieland gripped the rectangles of cheap, white fabric between clenched knuckles as they watched seven points appear on the scoreboard next to Alabama's name. "And we certainly did that as much as we could", Saban said.

Hurts been especially unsafe as a runner in the early part of 2017.

Alabama is wary of Texas A&M's Christian Kirk as both a receiver and a return man. Kirk burned the Tide for a 68-yard touchdown on a punt return two years ago.

Alabama hit a wall after scoring on an eight-yard touchdown reception from Henry Ruggs its first drive in the second half. "We are supposed to put the game away, and we didn't do it". In the end Alabama was just too tough for the Texas A&M to overcome, as the Tide won 27-19. "We are actually helicoptering him tonight to a hotel in College Station", Saban said.
