Kyle Busch needs medical attention after Charlotte NASCAR race

We just never gave up, and the pit crew was flawless. We are definitely working hard and are enjoying it. "You can go into Talladega (next week), crash out early and be in the back of the pack and not finish well and be coming from behind in Kansas". It's frustrating to run like this. Staying focused, and we know where we want to go.

Harvick was third and Hamlin finished fourth. Earnhardt crashed in the opening moments of Friday practice, and said he'd avoid the top line of the track where the compound is until another driver demonstrates there's no danger. "My guys did a great job trying to rebound and get it back together as much as we could throughout the day". "We'll just keep focused, enjoy the good days". Kyle Larson and Kevin Harvick, who are second and third, are just three points apart, but the other nine drivers all sit within 25 points of each other.

We weren't even close to being able to win at the beginning of the race. "Just thankful to him and this whole team and Barney (owner) and everybody for giving us everything we need". He laid down on the infield grass after climbing from his auto on pit road. Sure it had that long run to kick off the final stage where things got strung out and the incentive was to save equipment, but that's a 500-mile race. On a stop that late in the race, two loose nuts would have meant a suspension for Knaus, something the struggling team can ill afford in the playoffs. He ran second for most of the first half of the opening stage, first trailing pole sitter Denny Hamlin until a competition caution on lap 35, and then Chase Elliott after Elliott took the lead from Hamlin on the restart. Despite leading 22 circuits, Busch's issues started on lap 135 in turn three.

"I'm all right now", Busch said after leaving the care center.

"We still have a lot to detail out because there's so much difference on our cars then what we've ever raced before and we're still progressing".

"As a Las Vegas native, I was heartbroken to learn of the events that occurred Sunday night", said Gallagher, who organized the initiative. Harvick led 39 laps in the stage, second to Hamlin's 40. "I don't know if we had the best auto, but we damn sure got it in victory lane". His first and third incidents resulted in cautions. He also earned a slot in the playoff's third round with the win, the fourth in four races for auto manufacturer Toyota. Complaining most of the 500 miles of being overheated, he needed immediate medical attention when he climbed from his auto.

It got worse. After the event, Busch climbed out of his auto and laid down on the ground, as medical staff tended to him. That he won Sunday's Bank of America 500, his sixth win this year, only adds to that. Jimmie Johnson is an eight-time victor at Charlotte Motor Speedway, including the win of last year's Bank of America 500.

Sunday was the 11th time that Busch, who started fourth, finished 20th or worse at Charlotte.

In his first race in almost a year, Bowman drove his No. 42 Chevrolet to his first NASCAR Xfinity Series victory Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway in a rain-delayed playoff elimination race. Also in the top 10 were Kenseth, Truex, Kurt Busch, Hamlin, Larson, Johnson, Ryan Blaney and McMurray. Dale Earnhardt Jr. went to a backup auto after a practice crash Friday.
